I am insatiably passionate about design. I know the innovation and depth of thought that pours out of our design studios, firms, and schools. I can see how design continues to benefit from cross-pollination with other disciplines and vice versa, and I love thinking about how powerful design solutions can be when a diverse set of mindsets and skillsets is present.

My most impactful and meaningful work to date has been the result of a strong team. Always.

More specifically, I always look to focus my design work and development on positively impacting the human experience through radically sophisticated yet aesthetically beautiful methods.

My work fully embodies and represents the central mission that we should give more than we take in all aspects of design.

I’ll never forget the first day I interned at William McDonough + Partners in Charlottesville. I was invited to sit in on a routine project kickoff. I figured we would discuss the form of the building, what materials we were going to use, what drawings we needed to assemble, etc.

Instead, the very first thing the team brought out to discuss was a solar diagram of the site. No building, no program, no model. Just the sun and its relation to a specific piece of our earth. It was truly a profound moment for me. The sun - rather, nature - was their starting point on every project and there was something so beautiful about that ideal that I still look to integrate it into my design thinking every single day.

I want to continue to push the boundaries of design thinking, representation, branding, function, and practice. Our world, our environment, and the people in it deserve nothing less.
